Advanced aerial survey technology for high-resolution mapping and monitoring
APSAC, Itanagar is equipped with UAV to carry out high resolution aerial survey. Onboard optical camera enables to generate ortho-image of 10 cm resolution. Quadcopter UAV is now being used for monitoring of some State and Central sponsored projects.
Its platforms are nowadays a valuable source of data for inspection, surveillance, mapping and monitoring developmental activities in the state. UAVs are considered as a low-cost alternative to the conventional aerial photogrammetry. It can fly in manual, semi-automated and autonomous modes.
Following a typical photogrammetric workflow, 3D outputs like Digital Surface or Terrain Models, contours, textured 3D models, vector information, etc. can be generated.
